Intel released the Xeon E5-2690 v2 processor :year_text, expanding its popular :family_text series. Thanks to the use of the 22 nm process node, the manufacturer achieved an excellent balance of performance. The chip is installed in the compatible motherboards socket. The CPU received 10 physical cores. Thanks to multi-threading technology, it processes up to 20 data threads. In standard mode, the chip operates at 3 GHz. Under heavy loads, the frequency can automatically increase up to 3.6 GHz. For fast data exchange, 25 MB of third-level cache memory (L3) is provided. Nominal power consumption (TDP) is 130 W, so adequate cooling should be considered. While Xeon E5-2690 v2 is not positioned as a flagship gaming solution, it is quite capable of handling popular games at medium settings when combined with a discrete graphics card.
