AMD released the Opteron 6230 HE processor :year_text, expanding its popular :family_text series. The hardware foundation of the die is based on 32 nm manufacturing norms, ensuring high transistor density. The compatible motherboards connector is supported. The CPU received 12 physical cores. Thanks to multi-threading technology, it processes up to 12 data threads. In standard mode, the chip operates at 2.2 GHz. Thanks to dynamic overclocking technologies, the maximum frequency rises to 3.1 GHz. For fast data exchange, 16 MB of third-level cache memory (L3) is provided. The processor's base thermal design power (TDP) is stated at 85 W. While Opteron 6230 HE is not positioned as a flagship gaming solution, it is quite capable of handling popular games at medium settings when combined with a discrete graphics card.
